When we are talking about the subject of "picking up women." I often get asked what to do to "pick up women", or just "how to pick up women".
I not long ago got asked the question: "Why do women flirt with you and when you flirt back they snub it? It's so confusing!!!" I thought it was wonderful and valuable enough to share.
First of all, women have different characters. What is being described here is a sort of personality, not all women in general. The personality type that typically does this kind of actions is a little unstable. They are testing the water, but they don't just want to make a start.
The best way to manage this personality type is when you find it is not to react, not to take the bait so to speak. Let the girl flirt all she likes, let her take the lead. Let her handle how the romance goes. If you don't react, she will get comfortable with you and steepen the gradient over time. If you react (flirt back) she will usually run off.
Difficulty is, however, people with the same or compatible personalities are likely to hang out together. So quite often you can get the feeling that the whole world is one way, when in fact it may be only a certain percentage of persons who are like that. So if you generally think ALL women are one way, alter your environment. Go to a different place, meet different people in different environments and perhaps you will notice different personality types and possibly one that is more suitable for you.
Now having said that, let's view it from a different perspective. Women in general enjoy flirting for flirting's sake more than gents do. Men will flirt because they are interested in a woman. Ladies will flirt to see if they get a response, to find if they are looking good and are impressive, even when they are not serious about a man. They will flirt with a person they are only interested in being friends with.
One way to get better control of these situations is to look at all the communication modes that a woman is making use of to communicate - Like verbal, emotional, physical, mental, and sexual communications.
When a lady likes you she probably will communicate that she likes you across all of the communications channels. When she is simply playing around she will give you mixed communications. So when you see a woman flirting with you, but she does not back up the flirting by showing you she likes you over ALL the communication channels - don't take the flirtation seriously.
